THE ROCK THAT IS HIGHER THAN I

1. Hear my cry, O Lord (1-5).David was a king. He was a leader of men and a powerful warrior. But he knew that there was a Rock that was higher than he. He called on God for help. He asked to be led to the "rock that is higher than I." Truly great men are humble men who call out to God in prayer. David committed his life to God. He was powerful and wealthy, but he valued most the "heritage of those who feared the Lord." God establishes the king who fears God and makes vows before him.
-
2. Protected by God's love and faithfulness (6-8).God promised to enthrone King David forever. He would fulfill this promise in Jesus, the descendant of David who would reign forever (Lk 1:32,33). Because Jesus our King is enthroned forever, we must praise God and fulfill our vows to him every day.Prayer: Lord, lead me to the rock that is higher than I. I am weak, but you are strong. Help me to fulfill my vows to you today.

Jesus can save anybody

Many people are under the wrong impression that Christians are people who have grown up in church and "Leave it to Beaver" homes. That is a lie from Satan. Before we became Christians we were educated fools, whoremongers, high school drop-outs, drug dealers, crack heads, theives, liars, atheists, PhDs, blasphemers, lovers of our own selves, adulterers, drunkards, cussers and anything else that is evil. Peter lays it out in I Peter 4:3-4:
-
For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when WE walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries...
-
I get my fair share of e-mail and it never ceases to amuse me when folks basically accuse me of being self-righteous. I quickly tell them that I know what I am without Jesus Christ--a rotten, stinkin' sinner dead in trespasses and sins. I broke practically every commandment. That begs the question: What has changed me and why don't I live like Satan's world anymore? BECAUSE NOW I KNOW JESUS. I'm here to tell you that God is in the clean-up business. He says in Isaiah 1:18:
"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."
-
How does He clean you up? With blood. The blood of Jesus that was shed on Calvary's cross almost 2,000 years ago for your sins.
-
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
-
If you are:
sick of living for nothing but yourself,
sick of the folly of chasing education,
sick of feeling empty; and,
sick of trying to depend on yourself,
-
then what you need to do is REPENT of your sins. Tell Jesus that you realize that you are a sinner and you're sick of living without Him. Tell Jesus that you want Him to be your Lord/Master and your Saviour from sin. Tell Jesus that you believe that He died on the cross for your sins and that He rose from the dead on the third day. Ask Him to save your soul from hell and give you that peace that surpasses all understanding. If you do this in faith, you will become a child of God. Christ Jesus will take you and love you up and transform you into an entirely new person if you let Him. The Bible says "If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away, behold, ALL things are become new." I am a living testimony to this fact--and I know lots of other people just like me. Jesus is still savin' today in 1998! His blood will never lose its power.
-
Jesus cleaned me up and He is the sole reason that this page exists. Without Him, I'd still be DEAD in trespasses and sins. But, glory to God, I'm ALIVE in Jesus Christ. I still sin, but NO WHERE NEAR WHAT I USED TO. I try to avoid sin but when I do sin, I ask for forgiveness in accordance with I John 1:9. God told Christians in His word, "Be ye holy, for I am holy." We are to take His commandment seriously and live the way Christ would.
-
If you will bow your knee to Jesus, your life will never be the same. When I look at the things of this old wicked world, they turn me off completely. I mean, it is so gross like the vomit and mire mentioned in the Bible. Is my flesh sometimes tempted? Yes, but never to the extent that I want to live like I did without Jesus Christ in my life. No way! Jesus Christ IS my life. Me and Him got a relationship going on. I'm not unique, you can have the same awesome relationship--if you want it.
-
If you are not saved, your life is meaningless and you have the wrath of God abiding on you, to boot. This is all so needless. Repent of your sins and believe the gospel: Jesus died for your sins, was buried, and rose again the third day--THIS IS THE GOSPEL. Please do not die without Jesus.

End of times - How can I be ready?

As a Christian, I do not have to fear the end of times. God has told me no one can snatch me from His hand (John 10:28) and He has given me knowledge and instruction in His Word so that I can be prepared and ready for the end of times. I know that the outcome is already decided. Our Lord and Messiah will win the battle and slay the enemy with the Word of God (Revelation 19:15).
-
Not knowing the day or the hour (Matthew 24:36, Mark 13:32) of the end of times, I must be about my Father's business every day. Readiness comes from my spending more time with God, studying His Word, talking and listening to Him in prayer, following His instruction to "act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God" (Micah 6:8), prepare by following His commandments (Nehemiah 1:5, John 14:23-24, 15:10) to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind" (Matthew 22:37) and to "…Go and make disciples of all nations…" (Matthew 28:19-20) so that others may be brought into the kingdom of God before the end of times are upon us and it is too late.
-
I am to prepare to spend eternity with God, ready to worship Jesus, the coming King, in Spirit and in truth, by worshiping Him now.

Power of Prayer

Power Of Prayer - How powerful is it?
The power of prayer should not be underestimated. James 5:16-18 declares, "…The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.
" God most definitely listens to prayers, answers prayers, and moves in response to prayers. Jesus taught, "…I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you" (Matthew 17:20). 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 tells us, "The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." The Bible urges us, "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints" (Ephesians 6:18).
-
Power Of Prayer - How do I tap into it?
The power of prayer is not the result of the person praying. Rather, the power resides in the God who is being prayed to. 1 John 5:14-15 tells us, "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of him." No matter the person praying, the passion behind the prayer, or the purpose of the prayer - God answers prayers that are in agreement with His will. His answers are not always yes, but are always in our best interest. When our desires line up with His will, we will come to understand that in time. When we pray passionately and purposefully, according to God's will, God responds powerfully! We cannot access powerful prayer by using "magic formulas." Our prayers being answered is not based on the eloquence of our prayers. We don't have to use certain words or phrases to get God to answer our prayers. In fact, Jesus rebukes those who pray using repetitions, "And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him" (Matthew 6:7-8). Prayer is communicating with God. All you have to do is ask God for His help. Psalm 107:28-30 reminds us, "Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and he brought them out of their distress. He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven." There is power in prayer!

Power Of Prayer - For what kind of things should I pray?
God's help through the power of prayer is available for all kinds of requests and issues. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." If you need an example of a prayer, read Matthew 6:9-13. These verses are known as the Lord's prayer. The Lord's prayer is not a prayer we are supposed to memorize and simply recite to God. It is only an example of how to pray and the things that should go into a prayer - worship, trust in God, requests, confession, protection, etc. Pray for these kinds of things, but speak to God using your own words.
-
The Word of God is full of accounts describing the power of prayer in various situations. The power of prayer has overcome enemies (Psalm 6:9-10), conquered death (2 Kings 4:3-36), brought healing (James 5:14-15), and defeated demons (Mark 9:29). God, through prayer, opens eyes, changes hearts, heals wounds, and grants wisdom (James 1:5). The power of prayer should never be underestimated because it draws on the glory and might of the infinitely powerful God of the universe! Daniel 4:35 proclaims, "All the peoples of the earth are regarded as nothing. He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth. No one can hold back his hand or say to him: 'What have you done?'"

GOD'S SIGNET RING

Haggai 2:10-23
Key Verse: 2:23
-
-
1. The way of holiness and blessing (10-19).
According to the law, a person was defiled when he touched something unclean. But a person is not made holy by simply touching something holy. Only God can provide the way for a man to be made clean, spotless and undefiled. It is through repentance and forgiveness by faith. God's blessing would return to the remnant of Israel once they rebuilt the temple. It would be their humble obedience in repentance for their nation's historical sin. The temple sacrifices pointed to Jesus, who was sacrificed once for all sins. When we come to Jesus with repentance and faith, he cleanses us by his blood and makes us holy. Jesus is the way of holiness and blessing.
-
2. The Lord's Signet Ring (20-23).
A signet ring symbolizes a king's legal authority. God made Zerubbabel, a direct descendant of David, to be his like signet ring. He would lead God's people in repentance and spiritual renewal. God fulfilled his world salvation promise through Zerubbabel's descendant, Jesus.Prayer: Lord, thank you for Jesus who has all authority in heaven and on earth. I come to him for forgiveness and blessing.

Jingle Bells ( lyrics)

Dashing through the snow, in a one horse open sleigh,
Over the fields we go, laughing all the way.
Bells on bobtails ring, making spirits bright,
What fun it is to ride and sing a sleighing song tonight.

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way
Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh.
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way
Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh.

A day or two ago, I thought I'd take a ride
And soon Miss Fanny Bright, was seated by my side;
The horse was lean and lank, misfortune seemed his lot;
He got into a drifted bank and we got upsot.

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way
Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh.
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way
Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh.

A day or two ago, the story I must tell I went out on the snow, and on my back I fell; A gent was riding by, in a one-horse open sleigh He laughed as there I sprawling lie but quickly drove away.

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh. Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh.

Now the ground is white, go it while you're young Take the girls tonight, and sing this sleighing song; Just get a bob-tailed bay, two-forty as his speed Hitch him to an open sleigh and crack you'll take the lead.

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way
Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh.
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way
Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh.

Salt and Light

"Salt is good; but if the salt becomes unsalty, with what will you make it salty again? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another." Matthew 9:50
-
Some of the characteristics of salt are:
1) It Enhances flavor, adds richness to a otherwise bland food.
2) Preserves. Ever since the time of the Egyptians salt has been used in the mummification process to better preserve the body for the supposed afterlife.
3) Restores balance.
-
When a person is injured, we pump saline (which is a salt water solution) into them in order to restore balance to their system. The body needs sodium and potassium in order to survive. The nervous system conducts electricity by pumping slat in and potassium out of the cells of your body. Salt is an essential nutrient for the survival of the body.
-
We, as Christians ARE the body, therefore we need salt in order to survive. We are to be the lifeblood of the church. We can only conduct electricity by getting up and actively pursuing people and sharing our faith, the faith of our forefathers; the faith of the leadership of our country today.
-
As Christians, we are called on the be salt and light to the world. We are called to enhance and enrich the lives of others by bringing the love of Christ into an otherwise bland and drab existence. We are called on to preserve the way of Christ; not only to preserve it, but to live it. If we are not living it, we are casting our salt under the feet of others to be trodden and destroyed. We are called to restore balance to a dying world. We each are not able to find peace and balance by our own accord. The only way we can find peace is to call on the name Jesus, Lord and Savior, price of peace, Emanuel, almighty counselor. It is when we realize our depravity and the need to have salt to enhance our lives, that we can truly taste and partake in the Salt of the world.
-
My question is this, are you the salt shaker who sits on the table, happy and content to have the salt sitting there, bound up inside, or are you the person who picks up the salt shaker and shakes the salt into the world?

Taking it with you

There once was a rich man who was near death. He was very grieved because he had worked so hard for his money and he wanted to be able to take it with him to heaven. So he began to pray that he might be able to take some of his wealth with him.
-
An angel hears his plea and appears to him. "Sorry, but you can't take your wealth with you." The man implores the angel to speak to God to see if He might bend the rules.
-
The man continues to pray that his wealth could follow him. The angel reappears and informs the man that God has decided to allow him to take one suitcase with him. Overjoyed, the man gathers his largest suitcase and fills it with pure gold bars and places it beside his bed.
-
Soon afterward the man dies and shows up at the Gates of Heaven to greet St. Peter. St. Peter seeing the suitcase says, "Hold on, you can't bring that in here!"
-
But, the man explains to St. Peter that he has permission and asks him to verify his story with the Lord. Sure enough, St. Peter checks and comes back saying, "You're right. You are allowed one carry-on bag, but I'm supposed to check its contents before letting it through."
-
St. Peter opens the suitcase to inspect the worldly items that the man found too precious to leave behind and exclaims, "You brought pavement?!!!"

YOUR EYES ARE TOO PURE TO LOOK ON EVIL

1. Your eyes are too pure to look on evil (1:12-13).Habakkuk accepted God's answer, and acknowledged God's authority to appoint Babylon to execute judgment. He also trusted God to preserve the lives of his own. But he still could not understand how God, whose eyes are too pure to even look on evil, would employ the evil Babylonians to do this. So again, he brought his complaint to God.
-
2. The wicked fisherman (1:14-2:1).To the eyes of the prophet, Babylon was like a wicked fisherman. After a successful catch, the fisherman offers sacrifices to his idol. Babylon worshiped military and economic strength that made her secure and affluent. To Habakkuk, this is a great injustice. To him, the Babylonians were servants of the devil, who should be destroyed, not helped. He stands watch, awaiting God's answer.Prayer: Lord, I often watch as innocent people fall prey to the devil's schemes. It breaks my heart, and I cry to you. Please show me how you are working to bring about your good and perfect will.

Praising God In The Storm

You would probably have realised the new blog song which I have put up here. Its called "Praise You In This Storm" by Casting Crowns. All of us face storms in our life at one time or another. The storms can be big storms, or just small storms, but they all make life difficult for us. Why do we have storms in our life? Why does God allow these storms to come into our lives? Well, in the 1st place, no one, not even Jesus said that life would be easy. Life isn't easy, thats for sure. But another thing that we can be sure about is that God would be walking through it with us.
Its very easy to praise God for the things He has done for us when everything is sunny and fine, when things just seem to be perfect. Its easy to praise God when we are not facing any storms in our life. But what about when we are facing the storms in our lives? Do we praise God in this storm? Yes of course, thats because when God allows a storm to come into our life, He has a reason for it, and He will either calm the storm for us, or He will just ride through it with us. God will never leave us in the storm. Thats why even in the storm, we will praise God, because we know that He is with us.
There are 2 main reasons why God puts a storm in our life.
One reason is to change our stubborn thinking and mindsets, so that we can walk in His direction. This can be seen in the example of Jonah. You see, Jonah was running away from God's calling of going to Nineveh to preach. He got onto a ship and then faced a violent storm. Well, its a long story, but eventually Jonah was thrown overboard the ship into the sea as he is identified by the sailors for causing the storm as he has incurred God'd wrath. But well, that was not the end of Jonah. In Jonah 1:17, it says "But the Lord provided a great fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was inside the fish three days and three nights." Isn't this wonderful? God did not let Jonah die in the storm. God was riding with Jonah through the storm, sending a big fish to help Jonah keep alive in the storm! Well, to cut the story short, after spending the time in the fish stomach, Jonah finally soften his heart to God's calling and went to Nineveh to preach against it, thus saving the entire city from God's judgment. You see, this storm that God puts Jonah through was obviously aimed at softening Jonah's stubborness against the calling of God. Aren't we like Jonah sometimes, refusing to listen to the will of God and thus facing a storm that God put in our life? I myself admit to this. But do not be disheartened, God put this storm in our life only for our own good, and He will ride through it with us.
-
Another reason why God puts a storm in our life is to make us depend on His power. Many a times, when we are so blessed and have lived a sunny life for too long, we get a little complacent and forgot God's blessing upon our life. We will tend to feel that we do not need God in our life anymore. When this happen, God will put a storm in our life to remind us that we still need to depend on Him as we are not as great we think we are. In Mark 4:35~41, we see that Jesus and his disciples were in a boat when a storm caught them. At that point of time, Jesus was still asleep. So the storm was really violent and the disciples got scared. So they woke Jesus up and Jesus rebuked the winds, calming the storm in the end. After that, the disciples were rebuked for having no faith because they were afraid. In this case, the storm was calmed. All that was intended was for the disciples to learn that they had to depend on Jesus and for them to realise their own state of faithlessness. I believe that before this, the disciples were probably thinking that they were mighty and strong in their faith. The storm made them realise their weakness and made them lean onto Jesus for help. This is true in our lives as well. Sometimes we will face storms in our life to make us realise that we are not as great as we thought we are and we eventually still need to go back to God for His strength and protection. But we do not have to fret, because God is in control all along and the storm will eventually be calmed.
-
Therefore, we should praise God even in the storm. Reason being in the fact that God puts these storms in our lives only for our own good, to make us learn, and that He is always looking after us, either by riding through the storm with us or by calming the storm in the end.

Only Faith in the Word of God Is True Goodness

Chapter three of the Book of Genesis underscores just how important it is to believe in God’s Word. Had Adam and Eve believed in God absolutely and trusted in His Word without falling into their own thoughts, they would have stood against the Devil when he came to tempt them, saying, “What are you talking about? Stop spewing out such nonsense! Don’t slander God! God is not evil. I believe in Him!” Eve would have also said, “If I eat of the tree of the knowledge of God, I will surely die,” and then the Devil would have fled, realizing, “Oh, no! I tried to deceive but my tricks aren’t working!”
-
However, Eve said instead, “Lest you die,” and so Satan thought, “Yes! You don’t believe in God’s Word! You are my prey now!” and the Devil blew doubts into her heart all he wanted. So, as the Devil said, “In the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God,” Eve was tempted by this and ended up eating the forbidden fruit, and she led Adam to eat it as well.
-
Because of this, mankind came to have a standard of good and evil different from God’s. But, is there true goodness to mankind? No, all that human beings have is just evil. In fact, we have no ability to discern good and evil, and there is nothing correct in our standard.
-
If we had a standard to discern good and evil on our own, wouldn’t this mean that we were no different from God? Human beings, having eaten the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, left God and sat on the seat of judge by themselves. We must remember here that the Devil was brought down precisely for this kind of arrogance, for trying to become God himself.
-
Only God is the One who exists by Himself, only He is true, and only He is good. Only His Word is the never-changing Truth, and only His Word is right. In other words, only God can discern good and evil, and it is His standard that constitutes the absolute standard of good and evil in this world.
-
As the Devil himself failed to become like God, he is now inciting us to fall into disbelief, and thereby hurt God’s heart, who loves mankind. Instead of being at the forefront himself, the Devil eggs us on to challenge God—this is the wiles of the cunning Devil. Since he is already doomed, he wants to take us down with him.
-
My fellow believers, faith in God alone is goodness. If there is any goodness to us humans, it is when we believe in God and trust in His Word. Only faith constitutes our goodness. None other than not believing in God is evil. All of us need to have the belief that God takes care of and leads all the lives of His people, from our brothers and sisters here attending at the Mission School to His appointed workers.
-
God leads us according to His time, provides for our needs in His time, trains us in His time, and sets us free from our weaknesses in His time. We are not here in this same place forever as we are, stagnant as faithless beings. One day, God will transform you. It is faith that makes you and me live. This is what today’s Scripture passage is talking about.
-
We have read and seen here how Adam and Eve fell into Satan’s temptation by not believing God. For you and me alike, we, too, will fall into the Devil’s temptation if we do not believe in God. Preaching the gospel to souls is also made possible only by faith. In fact, it is only by faith that we can live a victorious life. There is nothing we can do but to believe in God.
-
And we should realize that when we seek to do God’s work, if we are motivated by a desire to be praised by others, or if we only want to work under propitious circumstances, then we will not be able to do anything at all. Since faith grows when we rise up to our challenge, we should launch and carry out God’s work believing that under all circumstances, the will of God will be surely accomplished.
-
When we read chapter three of Genesis and analyze the cause behind the fall of Adam and Eve, we can realize that they fell into sin because they did not believe in God. We must remember that unless we believe, we, too, can very easily fall into sin. But what happens when we believe in God? We are freed from sin.
-
We believe in God, who is not seen in our eyes. And we believe in His Word. My fellow believers, it is this faith in God that makes us whole. We are fully convinced that that God will bless us His believers. And we are sure that our faith will lead many souls to be saved. We believe that God’s Church will be established all over the world by faith. We believe that by trusting in God, everything will be provided for us and all our needs will be filled. We believe that our lives will be made beautiful by faith. We believe that through our faith in God, we will become wise. We believe that whether our lives can or cannot be made righteous, wise, and beautiful, all depends entirely on our faith.
-
Faith in the gospel of the water and the Spirit leads us to a beautiful life. At the very end of our journey, when we look back our lives, we will come to confess that our faith in God’s servants, in His Church, and in His Word has transformed our lives beautifully.
-
We believe in the Lord’s righteousness.

IS JESUS GOD?

Is Jesus God? The Historical DisputeIs Jesus God?
The answer to this question is the only real dispute surrounding the historical Jesus. No legitimate scholar today denies that Jesus is a historic figure that walked on this earth about 2,000 years ago, that he did remarkable wonders and acts of charity, and that He died a horrible death on a Roman cross just outside Jerusalem. The emotionally-charged dispute focuses specifically on whether Jesus was God incarnate who rose from the dead three days after His Crucifixion.
-
Is Jesus God? The Only AlternativesIs Jesus God?
Many people have dealt with this "spiritual" dispute by intellectually accepting Jesus as a great man, great teacher, or great prophet. However, Jesus and His inspired followers didn't mince words when they declared Him to be God (John 10:30-38, Matthew 16:13-17, Mark 14:61-64, John 14:6, Hebrews 1:8, Colossians 1:16, John 12:40-41 [quoting Isaiah 6:1-10]). Therefore, any type of intellectual compromise calling Jesus a "good man" is logically inconsistent. Why? Because there are really only three legitimate alternatives for the identity of Jesus Christ. He is either a liar, a lunatic or our Lord and God. Since Jesus claimed to be God, His claims are either true or false. If false, He must have been a liar, deliberately misleading the multitudes. Or, He was a lunatic, sincerely believing Himself to be God, when in reality He was just a man. However, if Jesus was a "good man," as most people now agree, how then could He be both good and crazy, or good and a liar? There is only one logically consistent alternative - He must have been telling the truth. In addition to the logical inconsistency, the remarkable historical, archaeological and manuscript evidence shows that Jesus was neither a liar nor a lunatic. Again, the only position left is that His claim is true. Jesus is Lord and God. The only real argument that remains, is that Jesus was just a legend or myth. There is little likelihood that Jesus' claims are legend. There just wasn't enough time for any legendary development of the story to replace what really happened. For instance, we now know that the Gospels were written 30 to 50 years after the crucifixion of Jesus. More dramatically, we now date some of the early Christian creeds, proclaiming the life, death and resurrection of Jesus, to 3 to 10 years after His crucifixion. This includes Paul's letters to the Corinthians, Romans and Galatians. Finally, if Jesus' claim of deity was a myth, the early Jewish opponents of Christianity would surely have presented the fact that these claims never happened. Unlike modern skeptics, the Jewish rabbis never denied that Jesus made the claim that He was God. Instead, they called Him a liar, and tried Him for blasphemy.
-
Is Jesus God? The Only AnswerIs Jesus God?
Once you have asked all your questions, weighed all the evidence, and tested all the arguments, you will ultimately be confronted with this question. In Mathew 16:15, Jesus put it this way, 'But who do you say that I am?' One of His disciples, Simon Peter, replied: 'You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.' What is your reply?

SALVATION THROUGH THE GRACE OF JESUS

Acts 15:1-11
1. What is necessary for salvation? (1-2).Some Jews went to Antioch and taught the believers that they needed to be circumcised and become Jews to be saved. Paul and Barnabas disputed with them but the matter could not be resolved. They decided to bring the matter before the apostles in Jerusalem. This was not a minor issue. The future of the Christian church depended on the answer to whether or not circumcision was necessary for salvation. Some people still insist that Jesus plus something else is required for salvation. How was this dispute resolved?
-
2. By grace alone, through faith alone (3-11).Paul and Barnabas visited other churches as they traveled to Jerusalem. They reported how God had brought salvation to the Gentiles. The brothers were glad. Paul and Barnabas were welcomed in Jerusalem but some Pharisees challenged them. After much discussion, Peter testified about his ministry to Cornelius. God had accepted him and his family and confirmed this by giving them the Holy Spirit. Peter's testimony agreed with Paul. Salvation is by faith in Jesus alone.Prayer: Lord, thank you for the all-sufficient gospel of Jesus and for the work of the Holy Spirit. One Word: Saved by God's grace alone

Humor : PRICE OF A SERMON

A man and his ten-year-old son were on a fishing trip miles from home.
At the boy's insistence, they decided to attend the Sunday worship service at a small rural church.
The father forgot to bring any cash, so he reached in his pocket and gave his son a dime to drop in the offering plate as it was passed.

-
As they walked back to their car after the service, the father complained. "The service was too long," he lamented. "The sermon was boring, and the singing was off key."
-
Finally the boy said, "Daddy, I thought it was pretty good for a dime."

Little Girl: Yes. I think I know everything that's in it.
Minister: You do? Tell me.
Little Girl: OK. There's a picture of my brother's girlfriend, a ticket from the dry cleaners, one of my curls, and a Pizza Hut coupon.

Crucifixion of Jesus Christ

Crucifixion of Jesus Christ - His Death
The crucifixion of Jesus Christ and His resurrection are the two most important events in human history. Why is this so? Because of Jesus' death, the human race has the opportunity for eternal salvation.
-
All four of the New Testament Gospels talk of the crucifixion of Christ. These authors give us graphic accounts of the ancient Roman practice. Here are some main points in the crucifixion timeline:
-
*Jesus was arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane (Mark 14:43-52).
*Jesus endured six trials - three by Jewish leaders and three by the Romans (John 18:12-14, Mark 14:53-65, Mark 15:1a, Mark 15: 1b-5, Luke 23:6-12, Mark 15:6-15) Jesus survived painful beating, whipping, and mocking (Mark 15:16-20)
*Pilate tried to compromise with the religious leaders by having Jesus beaten, but this act didn't satisfy them. Pilate handed Jesus over to be crucified (Mark 15:6-15)
*Jesus was mocked by the soldiers as they dressed Him in a purple robe and a crown of thorns (John 19:1-3)
Jesus was crucified on Golgatha, which means the Place of the Skull (Mark 15:22)
*The sky turned dark for three hours (Mark 15:33).
*Jesus cried, "Father! Into your hands I commit my spirit!" and He died (Luke 23:46).
-
-
Author Arthur W. Pitt describes it this way, "With bleeding back, carrying His cross under the heat of the now almost midday sun, He [Jesus] journeyed up the rugged heights of Golgotha. Reaching the appointed place of execution, His hands and feet were nailed to the tree. For three hours He hung there with the pitiless rays of the sun beating down [on] His thorn-crowned head. This was followed by the three hours of darkness, now over. That night and that day were hours into which an eternity was compressed."
-
The Savior of the world had emerged from three hours of darkness, during which He was separated from God the Father. Why did the Father turned away from Him? It is against the character of God to face sin, so God withdrew Himself from communication with His Son while Jesus bore the guilt of the world's sin.
-

Crucifixion of Jesus Christ - His Burial and Resurrection
Following the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, Joseph of Arimathea asked Pilate for the body of Jesus. Joseph was given permission to bury Jesus, so he brought fine linen, wrapped the body, laid Jesus in a tomb and rolled a large stone across the entrance. Jesus was in the grave for three days. After the Sabbath, Mary Magdalene, Mary (the mother of Jesus), and Salome prepared spices to anoint Jesus' body. When they arrived at the tomb, the stone had already been rolled away! They entered the tomb, where an angel said, "Don't be alarmed. . .You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter, 'He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you'" (Mark 16:6-7).
-
Crucifixion of Jesus Christ - His Eternal Gift
What does the crucifixion of Jesus Christ have to do with you? God, who knows what you're are made of, knew you could not live the sinless life necessary for heaven. So He decided to offer Himself in your place. He did that by becoming a man in the person of Jesus Christ, His own Son. Jesus lived a sinless life on earth.
-
God had said the punishment for sin is death. Since we all have sinned (Romans 3:23, 6:23), we needed someone sinless to die in our place. Jesus, being sinless, died in our place and became the saving grace of the world. He died for you! Romans 5:10 says, "For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!"
-
The Bible says, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved. . ." (Acts 16:31). Attending church or performing good works will not contribute to your salvation. God saves you by His grace.
Jesus is offering you the gift of eternal life. Will you accept it by faith?

Joke : Afraid of the Dark

A little boy was afraid of the dark. One night his mother told him to go out to the back porch and bring her the broom.
-
The little boy turned to his mother and said, "Mama, I don't want to go out there. It's dark."
-
The mother smiled reassuringly at her son. "You don't have to be afraid of the dark," she explained. "Jesus is out there. He'll look after you and protect you."
-
The little boy looked at his mother real hard and asked, "Are you sure he's out there?"
-
"Yes, I'm sure. He is everywhere, and he is always ready to help you when you need him," she said.
-
The little boy thought about that for a minute and then went to the back door and cracked it a little. Peering out into the darkness, he called, "Jesus? If you're out there, would you please hand me the broom?"

God-the-Father

“… He alone exists… He has existed since all eternity, and His existence will have no end.
-
“He has no equal either in Heaven or on the Earth.
-
“The Great Creator has not shared His power with any living being…, He alone possesses omnipotence.” (The Life of Saint Issa, 5:16-17).
-
“The Eternal Lawgiver is one; there is no other god, but He. He has not shared the world with anyone, neither has He informed anyone of His intentions.” (The Life of Saint Issa, 6:10)
-
“… The Lord our God… is all-mighty, omniscient, and omnipresent. It is He who possesses all wisdom and all light. It is to Him you must address yourselves to be consoled in your sorrows, helped in your works, and cured in your sickness. Whosoever shall have recourse to Him shall not be denied.
-
“The secrets of nature are in the hands of God. For the world, before it appeared, existed in the depth of the divine thought; it became material and visible by the will of the Supreme.
-
“When you address yourselves to Him, become again as children; for you know neither the past, the present, nor the future, and God is the Master of all time.” (The Life of Saint Issa, 11:12-15).
-
“(He) is a Monocracy with nothing above It. … He is God and Father of everything, the invisible One Who is above everything…, Who is in pure light, Whom no eye* can see.
-
“He is the invisible Spirit. It is not right to think of Him like you think of gods, or something similar. … Everything exists in Him. … He is illimitable, since there is nothing prior to Him to limit Him. … He is immeasurable, since there was no one prior to Him to measure Him. … He is eternal. … He exists eternally. … There is no way to tell His quantity… He is not contained in time…
-
“He is life-giving Life. He is blessedness-giving blessed One. He is wisdom-giving Wisdom. He is salvation-giving and love-giving Love.
-
“He is motionless; He resides in calm and silence. … He directs His desires into His flow of Light. He is the Source of this flow of Light…” (The Apocryphon of John, 2:25-4:25)
-
“He is the Original Spirit” (The Apocryphon of John, 4:35, 5:10,15).
-
“This then is the message which we have heard from… (Jesus), and declare unto you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all” (1 John 1:5).
-
“… The blessed… King, Who alone has immortality, dwelling in the Light…” (1 Tim 6:15-16).
“Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.” (1 Tim 1:17).

The majority of these words of Jesus were not included in the New Testament by church leaders at the end of 4-th century after Jesus’ visit on the Earth. And this predestined the deflection of the majority of Christians from monotheism. They have almost forgotten God-the-Father, though He and the Path to Him were the essence of Jesus’ preachings. Thus, their ontological, epistemological, and methodological views became baseless.
-
Moreover, Russian Orthodoxy developed an anthropomorphic* concept of God-the-Father, which is a typical feature of paganism. It is illustrated on the icon Trinity, where God-the-Father is depicted as an old man sitting on a cloud. And to the right of Him — sits Jesus. This notion was even accepted as the Orthodox Creed: “I believe… (in) the Lord Jesus Christ…, … sitting to the right of the Father…”
-
But God-the-Father is not a flying old man. He is the Primordial Consciousness immeasurable in Its vastness, filling the whole universal space in His Abode, and not anthropomorphic at all. He is really infinite. How can one sit to the right of the Infinite?

Joke : Unwanted Visitor

A man, down on his luck, went into a church which catered to the "uppity". Spotting the man's dirty clothes a deacon, worried about the churches image, went to the man and asked him if he needed help. The man said, "I was praying and the Lord told me to come to this church."
-
The deacon suggested that the man go pray some more and possibly he might get a different answer. The next Sunday the man returned. The deacon asked, "Did you get a different answer?"
-
The man replied, "Yes I did. I told the Lord that they don't want me in that church and the Lord said, 'Don't worry about it son; I've been trying to get into that church for years and haven't made it yet."

We Must First Know about Our Sins to Be Redeemed

Mark 7:8-9"'For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men-the washing of pitchers and cups, and many other such things you do.' And He said to them, 'All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.'"
-
Mark 7:20-23 "And He said, 'What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, licentiousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man.'"
-
First, I would like to define what sin is. There are sins defined by God and there are sins defined by man. The word sin, 'hamartia' in ancient Greek, means to 'miss the mark.' In other words, it is to do something wrong. It is a sin to disobey God's orders. Let's initially observe the human viewpoint of sin.
-
What is sin?
It is to disobey God'sorders
.
-
We recognize sin according through our consciences. However, the human standard of it varies according to one's social background, mental state, given circumstances and conscience.
-
Thus, the definition of sin varies among different individuals. The same action may or may not be considered sinful depending on each person's own standards. That is why God has given us 613 articles of the Law to be used as the absolute standard of sin.
-
The diagram below illustrates the sins of humankind.
-
God's Law
Man's conscience,morality and social norms
National law, civil law
-

We should never set the standards of sin upon our own consciences based on social norms.
-
The sins of our consciences are not in accord with what God has defined as sin. Therefore, we should not listen to our consciences, but rather base the standards of sin on God's commandments.
-
Each of us has our own idea of what sin is. Some consider it to be their shortcomings while others deem it to be based on distorted behavior.
-
For example, in Korea, people cover their parents' graves with grass and take it upon themselves to care for them until they die. But in one of the primitive tribes in Papua New Guinea, they honor their dead parents by feasting on the body with family members. (I'm not sure if they cook the carcass before eating it.) I believe they want to prevent the body from being eaten by worms. These customs illustrate that the human concept of sin widely varies.
-
A virtuous deed in one society may be considered barbaric in another society. However, the Bible tells us that it is a sin to disobey God's orders. "'For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men -the washing of pitchers and cups, and many other such things you do.' And He said to them, 'All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition'" (Mark 7:8-9). Our physical appearances are of no importance to God because He looks into the core of our hearts.

Humor : Clown Ministers

Reasons churches don't ask clown ministries to return:
1. They force people to smile during the 8 am service.
2. It's hard to say with dignity, "The sermon today will be given by Brother Umpa-Doody."
3. Whoopee cushions inevitably appear under pew cushions
4. Sermons take a lot longer when they are in pantomime.
5. Dribble glasses used during the communion service.
6. They have to pay janitors extra to get all of the silly string off the ceiling.
7. The kids pop their balloons during closing prayer

BLOOD OF JESUS

Blood of Jesus - What does it mean?
The blood of Jesus is the foundation of redemption. Jesus Christ died on the cross, shedding His blood, (and was then resurrected) as the only acceptable payment for our sins. The disciple Peter wrote in 1 Peter 1:18-19, “For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And the ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver. He paid for you with the precious lifeblood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.” The Blood of Jesus Christ is absolutely the most precious thing God has offered us.
-
Every human born has sinned against God and fallen short of His standard (Romans 3:23). We do not and cannot earn salvation by keeping the Old Testament Law or by simply being a good person. We will fail every time; it is in our nature to sin. It is only through God sacrificing His Son Jesus in our place, that we can acquire complete forgiveness. We can all attain this by accepting Jesus as our Savior, and accepting that He shed His blood to atone for the sins of all who repent. The act of communion does not save us, but we honor this wonderful gift from God with communion as a way to remember His sacrifice.
-
Blood of Jesus - Why is this required?
In the Old Testament (after Adam’s original sin), God accepted the death of an animal as a substitute for the sinner. The animal’s shed blood was proof that that one life had to be given for another. Life is precious and God places great value on each one of His created beings. This agreement demonstrated that, while blood symbolized death, it also showed that a life was spared. However, this was a temporary covenant. This blood needed to be repeated daily and yearly.
-
God would later send His only Son providing a new covenant, or New Testament through Jesus Christ. Jesus would die in the place of all sinners. His sacrifice fulfilled completely what the Old Testament covenant meant to. His blood would remove the sins of the world for all who put their faith in Him. This sacrifice would never have to be repeated; it is an eternal covenant.
-
John the Baptist called Jesus the “Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world” (John 1:29) The Lamb of course, referenced the unblemished animal sacrifice of old. There are many references to sacrificial offerings in the Old Testament. One that may be most familiar is the sprinkling of blood on the Hebrew doorposts when they were held in bondage by the Pharaoh of Egypt. This act provided God’s protection as His curse of the death angel passed through the streets. This curse was just one that God sent down on Pharaoh, moving him to release these Hebrew slaves.
-
The event was then commemorated in the Hebrew Feast of Passover. It is now recognized as a “type” or foreshadowing of the blood of Jesus. The blood is a powerful, freeing, and protecting provision from God. As one Christian hymn says, “There is power, power, wonder-working power in the precious blood of the Lamb.” If you have asked Jesus to be Lord of your life, then you too have applied the blood of the Lamb on the doorposts of your heart. He is covering your heart, and your life with his protection and ever-lasting forgiveness of sin.
-

Blood of Jesus - How is this possible?
It is possible for everyone to have the protection and forgiveness that the blood of Jesus provides. Regardless of what sins and offenses we have committed against God, He offers this gift to each of us. John 3:17 tells us that Jesus didn’t come to condemn us but to save us.
-
It is not enough to say we believe in God or know about Him. We must want know Him personally and accept the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus, to receive it. The Bible, God’s Holy Word, says that no one can enter heaven or get to the Father except through the Son (John 14:6) And in John 6:40, Jesus says that all who believe in Him will receive everlasting life -- with Him! We are only asked to believe (have faith), repent (turn from sin), receive (salvation through Jesus), confess Him, and transfer ownership of our lives to Him. If you have never asked Jesus into your life, won’t you ask Him now?

Joke : The Cowboy in Church

One Sunday a cowboy went to church. When he entered, he saw that he and the preacher were the only ones present. The preacher asked the cowboy if he wanted him to go ahead and preach. The cowboy said, "I'm not too smart, but if I went to feed my cattle and only one showed up, I'd feed him."
So the minister began his sermon.
One hour passed, then two hours, then two-and-a-half hours. The preacher finally finished and came down to ask the cowboy how he liked the sermon. The cowboy answered slowly,
"Well, I'm not very smart, but if I went to feed my cattle and only one showed up, I sure wouldn't feed him all the hay."

Joke : Acting Up In Church

One Sunday in a Midwest City, a young child was "acting up" during the morning worship hour.

The parents did their best to maintain some sense of order in the pew but were losing the battle. -
Finally, the father picked the little fellow up and walked sternly up the aisle on his way out.

THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

The Baptism of The Holy Spirit
WHAT IT IS * WHAT IT DOES FOR YOU * HOW TO RECEIVE IT
-
BIBLICAL BACKGROUND

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work" (II Timothy 3:16, 17).
-
"Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant" (1 Corinthians 12:1).
-
"Even as the testimony to Christ was confirmed among you - so that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift, as you wait for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Corinthians 1:6,7).

AFTER RECEIVED JESUS

If you have received Jesus Christ as your Saviour, as a Christian you should:
1. Read your Bible every day to get to know Christ better.
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (2 Timothy 2:15)
-
"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." (Psalms 119:105)
-
2. Talk to God in prayer every day.
"And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." (Matthew 21:22)
-
"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." (Philippians 4:6)
-
3. Be baptized, worship, fellowship, and serve with other Christians in a church where Christ is preached and the Bible is the final authority.
-
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:" (Matthew 28:19)
-
"Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." (Hebrews 10:25)
-
"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" (2 Timothy 3:16)
-
4. Tell others about Christ.
"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." (Mark 16:15)
-
"For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!" (1 Corinthians 9:16)
-
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." (Romans 1:16)

God's Plan of Salvation

The Bible says there is only one way to Heaven
-
Jesus said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me." (John 14:6)
-
Good works cannot save you.
-
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)
-
Trust Jesus Christ today! Here's what you must do:

1.Admit you are a sinner.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" (Romans 3:23)
-
"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Romans 5:12)
-
"If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us." (1 John 1:10)
-
2.Be willing to turn from sin (repent).
Jesus said: "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:5)
-
"And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:" (Acts 17:30)
-
3.Believe that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried, and rose from the dead.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)
-
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners. Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)
-
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9)
-
4.Through prayer, invite Jesus into your life to become your personal Saviour.
"For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:10)
-
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13)
-
What to pray:
Dear God, I am a sinner and need forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His precious blood and died for my sin. I am willing to turn from sin. I now invite Christ to come into my heart and life as my personal Saviour.
-
-
"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" (John 1:12)
-
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17)

What was the cross of Jesus like?

Just as Jesus was at the center of the cross when He was crucified, so the cross has become the center of Christianity. The symbol is seen not only in churches and cathedrals, but on necklaces, key chains, rings, and pendants.
-
Strange, isn't it, that an implement of execution should find such common expression. We would surely be appalled to see someone with a small guillotine dangling from an ear lobe, or a gold-plated electric chair on a charm bracelet.
-
Yet the cross of Jesus has overcome all the negative associations to symbolize instead the meeting of God and man; the fusion of deity and humanity and the blood sacrifice that redeemed us all.
-
There is no definitive description of what that original cross looked like. Based on archeological evidence, crosses used in crucifixions were rough-hewn planks nailed together where they met. Criminals were often called to drag the crosses, weighing 110 pounds or more, to their execution places.
-
To make the executions take longer, the Romans nailed a small platform to the foot of the cross where the criminal's feet were nailed. This allowed the victim to push upwards enough to get a breath of air and stave off suffocation.
-
If we could see the cross of Jesus as it was when He died, its bloodstains would testify to the blood sacrifice made in our behalf. We would still see the holes in the wood where His hands and feet were nailed.
-
And we could imagine, once again, the power of God descending from heaven into that upright beam and meeting - and redeeming - our sinful nature there: At the cross of Jesus.

Joke : What's Your Religion

I was walking across a bridge one day, and I saw a man standing on the edge, about to jump off. I immediately ran over and said "Stop! Don't do it!"
-
"Why shouldn't I?" he said.
-
I said, "Well, there's so much to live for!"
-
"Like what?"
-
"Well ... are you religious or atheist?"
-
"Religious."
-
"Me too! Are you Christian or Jewish?"
-
"Christian."
-
"Me too! Are you Catholic or Protestant?"
-
"Protestant."
-
"Me too! Are you Episcopalian or Baptist?"
-
"Baptist."
-
"Wow! Me too! Are you Baptist Church of God or Baptist Church of the Lord?"
-
"Baptist Church of God."
-
"Me too! Are you Original Baptist Church of God, or are you Reformed Baptist Church of God?"
-
"Reformed Baptist Church of God."
-
"Me too! Are you Reformed Baptist Church of God, reformation of 1879, or Reformed Baptist
Church of God, reformation of 1915?"
-
"Reformed Baptist Church of God, reformation of 1915!"
-
To which I said, "Die, heretic scum!" and pushed him off.

BASIC SALVATION PRAYER

Maybe we can use One of Basic Salvation Prayer
Say the following prayer out loud, believe it from your heart and you will be saved.
-
Dear Father,
I now believe that Jesus Christ is Your only begotten Son, that He came to our earth in the flesh and died on the cross to take away all of my sins and the sins of this world. I believe that Jesus Christ then rose from the dead on the third day to give all of us eternal life.
-
Lord Jesus,
I now confess to You all of the wrong and sinful things I have ever done in my life. I ask that You please forgive Me and wash away all of my sins by the blood that You have personally shed for me on the cross. I am now ready to accept You as my personal Lord and Savior. I now ask that You come into my life and live with Me for all of eternity.
Father, Jesus - I now believe that I am truly saved and born again.

Thank you Father.Thank you Jesus.

SEE GOD'S GLORY

1. See the glory of God (38-40).Jesus was not offended by the doubt and criticism from the Jews. He was deeply moved to rescue them from their unbelief. When they came to the tomb, Jesus said, "Take away the stone." Martha had made a confession of faith in Jesus (27). But Martha was not ready to put her faith to the test. She believed in the power of death more than in Jesus' almighty power as God. Jesus rebuked her unbelief. Jesus taught her and us an important truth: The difference between light and darkness, life and death, is faith.
-
2. They took away the stone (41-44).Martha repented at Jesus' rebuke, and they rolled the stone away. Then Jesus prayed. His prayer planted faith that God has the power to defeat death, and that God had sent Jesus. Jesus called, "Lazarus, come out," and he came out of the tomb with the grave clothes still wrapped around him. Jesus is the resurrection and the life. One who believes in Jesus will live, even though he dies; whoever lives and believes in him will never die.
